Srbija se tokom prvih šest meseci 2011. godine prodajom trezorskih zapisa zadužila za 1,38 milijardi evra prodajom obveznica u dinarima na koje je kamata iznosila i iznad 13 odsto. Prema rečima Ivana Nikolića, saradnika Ekonomskog instituta, Vlada Srbije uspela je da nas za pet meseci zaduži i potroši više od iznosa koji je tražila za 51 odsto Telekoma Srbija. (izvor: Blic, krajem maja 2011. godine)
 
U julu se Ministarstvo finansija zadužilo prodajom svojih hartija od vrednosti za novih 700 miliona evra (obveznica u vrednosti 54 milijarde dinara i 150 miliona indeksiranih u evrima), ali se predviđanja da će dinar ponovo ojačati na ispod 100 dinara za jedan evro nisu ostvarila. (izvor: B92, jul 2011. godine)
 
Dinar je do kraja godine nastavio da slabi, ali budući da je predizborna godina i da NBS sve čini da inflaciju suzbije u jednocifrene okvire, dinar se do samog kraja godine „ponašao” bolje nego 2010. godine.
